Although it’s tempting to look for a more affordable DJ – don’t underestimate how important the quality and skill of the DJ you choose will be on the night of your wedding. They will be responsible for entertaining your guests for at least four hours. They will be the main focal point of the evening. Where can I book a DJ?

Can the DJ travel anywhere?

Yes, DJ Maj is used to traveling nationally and internationally, so the destination will not be an issue wherever your party is being held.

What kind of music will be played in our party?

The music will be what you want; the great thing about hiring DJ Maj-ik is that you will have no surprises when it comes to the music that you want to hear and that fits with your party.

Will the DJ take requests?

ABSOLUTELY! Why not, Unless you don’t want me to! I have some of everything and specialize in a variety of music. You will most likely have people of all ages, races, and tastes in music attend your event, so the best way to play what some of these people like is by taking requests.

How much of a deposit is required to secure a date?

Almost every DJ will require a deposit or retainer to secure your date. This is for their protection and yours. The industry standard for deposits is 25%.

What kind of equipment do you use?

Professional grade and the latest in audio and visual technology. Industry-standard PAT tested equipment from Pioneer DJ, Apple, RCF, QSC, Sennheiser, Shure, Serato DJ Pro, Technics, ADJ, AKI, and Chauvet DJ, including a backup system, so the music never stops.

How much do you charge?

Rates differ per event due to location, equipment requirements, and total time needed.

Do you have any extra space requirements?

I need about an 8-foot by 12-foot area for set-up [approximately], space for setting up speakers, table and lighting (if applicable) with a reliable power source within 10 feet (along the wall) of the DJ set-up area.

Do you have liability insurance?

Yes, up to £10M Public Liability Insurance (required by venues)

How long will it take the DJ to set up?

This will depend on what set-up you require and your location; we will discuss and work everything out once we have full details of your venue. About an hour in most cases.

How early do you typically arrive before an event?

Two hours or more, depending on the required equipment so that everything can be set up securely, checked, tested and out of the way before the guests arrive.

On the day of the event, Maj was early in setting up and completely out of the way before our guest arrived. The music flowed seamlessly, and he was very flexible with guest requests. He did a great job keeping us on time and on point during the reception.

Maj-ik knows how to work with the venue and photographer and keep the evening flowing. One huge benefit was that he was happy to get the song for us if we wanted a song he didn't have. Since we have nerdy/strange tastes, this was perfect.
